Open banking is now available for live customers
What’s changed?
You can now securely share financial data from your Griffin operational accounts with regulated third party providers, including other banks and fintechs.
This means you can, for example, let your accounting software read your balances and transaction histories, or give a payments provider permission to initiate a payment on your behalf.
Why have we done it?
Open banking is a basic enabler of embedded finance. We believe that you should be in control of who has access to your financial data and how you manage your funds across multiple platforms. Our job is to make sure you can do that securely and easily.
We also want to make sure we’re compliant with UK regulations, standards and best practice on open banking. Learn more.
How do I access open banking?
We’ve partnered with tell.money to provide a set of APIs that follow the open banking standard. This allows third party providers to integrate with Griffin so their software can read and interact with our platform.
Once your preferred provider has integrated with us, you’ll be able to:
give them access to your account information
allow them to initiate payments from your account
When you grant these permissions, you’ll be redirected to your Griffin account to review and confirm. You can also revoke access at any time via our app.
For more detail, read our full Open banking guide.
Can I use open banking in the sandbox?
No, for now open banking is only available for live customers.
How will this affect existing integrations?
Open banking will not impact any existing integrations.
Thanks for reading! You'll be hearing from us again soon.
In the meantime, you can start testing our products right away when you sign up for our sandbox.
If you need support, feel free to reach out through our in-app chat or send a message to product@griffin.com.
We’re always working to improve our products and enhance your experience. Stay tuned for more updates!
