We’ve rebuilt how you can generate statements from the ground up. The new account statements give you and your customers more information about your bank accounts, and for the first time you can get them through the API as well as the app.

What’s changed?

  • Statement generation - the new account statements include more information about your bank accounts than before, including interest rate changes and a summary of money movements

  • Download statements in the app - your ops team can access the new account statements directly in the Griffin app

  • Retrieve statements via API - statements are now available through the API for the first time, so you can embed them in your own customer experience

For details on how to retrieve statements through the API , check out this guide.

Why have we done it?

Giving customers access to information about their bank accounts is important. More and more customers use Griffin to hold savings, e.g. to buy a house, and they need to provide proof of funds along the way. With statements available via the API, you can let customers get what they need without raising a request with your ops team.

Our original statement generator did the job, but it didn’t deliver the quality of experience that Griffin strives for. We took the opportunity to build something better and more performant, in line with our updated visual identity.

Will this affect existing integrations?

No, existing integrations are unaffected. If you'd like to use the new statements API, you'll need to integrate with the new endpoint. See the [statements guide] for how to get started.
